A fifth-generation Texan, Lesli R. Fitzpatrick currently serves the State of Texas as Director of Special Litigation for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), Office of General Counsel. With her extensive criminal law experience, Lesli has gained invaluable legal knowledge of the Texas prison system during her tenure with TDCJ, which will serve her well as your next Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Judge. Before her time at TDCJ, Lesli R. Fitzpatrick worked as a criminal prosecutor, successfully handling dozens of jury trials, and served as a staff attorney for the Texas General Land Office where she coordinated all civil litigation. Additionally, she was a staff attorney for the Texas Senate and owned and operated The Law Office of Lesli R. Fitzpatrick for over a decade. As a solo practitioner, she predominantly practiced criminal law in Williamson, Travis, Hays, and Bell Counties, representing hundreds of clients charged with misdemeanor and felony crimes.
Lesli R. Fitzpatrick graduated with honors from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. She furthered her education at Baylor University, where she obtained a Master of Arts in Sociology, and later received her Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law.
